Each student is eligible to receive book vouchers with a total value of RM250 in the form of 5 pieces of RM50 vouchers. The vouchers can be redeemed for purchase of academic books, journals, magazines, and scientific and educational equipment based on the individual’s study requirements.

During the launching, many types of books such as novels, dictionary and reference books for teachers were exhibited outside the hall of the institution. Many students redeemed their vouchers at the redemption counter. IPGKBM students who received the 1 Malaysian book voucher (BB1M) were grateful for the timely gift. They were also happy that the amount had been increased to RM250 this year. Many hoped that it could be raised further.

This is the first time for him to work with Ruby Ooi and Tana Ziara. They are acting as trainee teachers who come from different places and meet in Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) in this telemovie.   “It is the first time I am involved in film shooting other than my music videos. It is not easy but enjoyable. In this telemovie, I have to sing a Chinese song.  I have never sung in Mandarin before. It is very challenging for me to sing correctly in Mandarin. However, Ruby who is my partner in this telemovie helps me a lot in teaching me how to pronounce Mandarin words correctly. I will be singing Lee Hom’s song and hope you guys will enjoy it.”
Director Wan Afzam Daud and his team stayed in IPGKBM to film “Masih Di Awan” at a few different sits in 3 days which was from 5th to 7th Of March. They used many trainee teachers of IPGKBM as their casts in the film shooting. The trainees had a good time with the actor and actresses and those who were involved in the film shooting were paid. SUKANTARA AND ANNUAL
SPORTS DAY OF IPGKBM

It was a rainy day on 25th and 26th February, but this did not stop the Sukantara event that was held at Padang IPGKBM. Sukantara was a Pre-Sport Day event held to unearth the participants’ talents. On the first day, the Sukantara event involved the members of Pahlawan, Pendekar and Laksamana houses. Meanwhile, on the following day those involved were the Panglima, Satria and Perwira houses. Each house members competed at their best to show their abilities in contributing for their house by gaining as many points as possible through the sports events held on that day. The events began at 5pm, involving track event (100m), long jump and shot put. The results are as follows:

1st: Panglima
2nd: Satria
3rd: Perwira
4th: Pendekar
5th: Laksamana
6th :Pahlawan

Most students participated in this event. They put a lot of effort to collect points for their houses in order to win. Besides that, there was a tug-of- war event among the students from different houses. Students with the ability to take part in this event were involved in it. They put their best effort in the event and everyone was doing their hardest. You just could not forget the faces they made while they were pulling the rope and the encouragement they got from the crowd. Lecturers were also involved in the event representing their own houses.
In continuity with this, the IPG KBM Annual Sports Day was held on March 2, 2013 at the Stadium of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).  SPORTS DAY 2013
IPGKBM sports day was held on 2nd March 2013. The weeks before the event were taken up for practices but at last the great day arrived. The day started nervously as the weather threatened to spoil the day for our students. However the rain stayed away and the weather was instead humid and warm. Some interesting and exciting events happened on that day.

This programme was very similar to last year with some slight alterations. The athletic events were held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) stadium.  The programme started at 8 a.m with a track event (800m). The competition had started to heat up. Priscilla David was dominant in the sprint events again, representing Pahlawan house, and as for the juniors it was slightly more competitive with Frederick, Nickassius and Harry all performing with distinction. The scores as we entered the track showed Pendekar house leading Pahlawan and Panglima whilst Perwira chased the pack.

One of the exciting events was the Cheer Leading competition. Every house had a cheer leading team. They prepared pom-poms to help improve their house performance. When all the track and field events were done, it was time for the house cheering teams to have a competition among them. Each team wore colourful, uniquely designed uniforms to represent their respective houses.
They performed choreographed dances in unity and formed beautiful patterns and danced lightly to the music. Students watched the performance happily and they appreciated the hard work that went along with the event.

The Sportsman and Sportswoman of The Year Awards were also announced. Muhammad Rizal Fahmi bin Mohd Kassim representing Laksamana house, was announced the sportsman of the year for breaking a record in the high jump event. Meanwhile, the female athelete who broke the record in the triple jump and long jump, Miss Zanariah binti Joli who represented Satria house won the Sportswoman of The Year Award.
The winner for house décor went to Perwira house for their oceanic theme. The cheer leading competition was won by Laksamana house as the first place followed by Perwira house.  The final score for IPG KBM sports tournament and track event was won by Pendekar house.

It was another successful and enjoyable sports day. Thanks to all the staff who had helped out all day.  The highest praise however must go to the Pendekar house members who were the stars of the sports day. Not even the weather could affect their day.  And it was clear to all, that with or without the sun all the students from all the 6 houses of IPGKBM did all the shining.

School Based Experience (SBE)
When I stepped out from the school gate on the last day, I had mixed feeling inside me. Although I was there merely for School Based Experience, it made me ponder a lot. Am I ready to become a teacher? Through my observations and discussions, this SBE has really become an eye-opener for me.
After seven years leaving my primary school time, I was not aware about the changes happening in the primary education field particularly. However, this one-week SBE has really benefited me as it has opened my eyes widely to see the reality of today's education world particularly among the primary kids.
For instance, based on one of my discussions with the school teachers, they mentioned that the kids nowadays are no longer same as the kids during my time. At the age of ten to twelve, many of the students have already involved in serious discipline or moral problems such as smoking and watching pornographic videos just as those have been heard and read through the media. These may be a surprise for certain people including me. Nonetheless, this is the fact of today's world.
Certainly, everyone could point to each other to justify the reasons for those problems. Yet through this one-week SBE, I realise that the teacher's role is vital and essential in educating students' heart and mind. No one knows about the students' problems, but the teachers.
Hence, I am still wondering whether I am ready to face this challenge for the rest of my future teaching life. Nevertheless, as a beginning, at this point of time, I have made the decision to upgrade myself from time to time by equipping myself not only with the knowledge, but also with the skills needed. What I aim for is a teacher who is able to touch the students' heart and mind as well as to leave some changes in their life. Hopefully, this awareness will always prompt me to work harder in order to achieve this aspiration.

Anatomy and Physiology Exhibition 2013
An anatomy and Physiology Exhibition 2013 was successfully held from 18th to 19th April 2013 at Dewan Za’ba. This exhibition was organised by Jabatan Pendidikan Jasmani and students of PISMP Semester 3 January 2012 intake. The exhibition has successfully enhanced the knowledge of anatomy and physiology among the students. We learned a lot from the exhibition and know more about our body structures and functions.

Different systems in our body were demonstrated by using various materials in interesting ways. For the cardiovascular system, we learned how the blood flow circulates. We also learned about the heart and blood vessels. For the nervous system, we learned how the signal is transmitted in our body and also the structures of different nerves.
For the respiratory system, the breathing mechanism was displayed. We learned how our lungs, diaphragm, trachea and other structures are involved in breathing. Besides, the skeletal system was also demonstrated. We learned and know the name of the bones in our body. We also understood the basic functions of different bones.
Another system was the urinary system. We learned how urine was excreted from our body. The structure of kidney was also showed to us. Moreover, we got to know the organs that are involved in the digestive system. We also learned how the food was digested and how each organ helps in the digestion.
The muscular system was also displayed. Different muscles in our body were clearly shown with their names properly labelled. We learned how muscles are involved in coordination and movement. For the reproductive system, we got to know the structures of male and female reproductive organs and their functions respectively. The female menstruation cycle was also demonstrated.
In conclusion, this exhibition was very useful and helpful for our understanding of human anatomy and physiology. We knew our own body better and appreciate every single structure and organ in our body. We felt great for the organiser  for their efforts to make this exhibition a success.

“I am very pleased with my students in my class,” said Puan Che, when I interviewed her, she was very humble and made us very comfortable. She was approachable. I was her student when I was in PPISMP Sem 2 (2012). I believe all her students know her well.
“About the unforgettable experience, I had an official duty years ago in Pulau Pangkor, and it was just like the story ‘Hikayat Malim Deman’ – 7 heavens, 7 mountains and 7 seas. Why seven? Because first, I took the taxi from my house to KL Sentral. Second, I went to KLIA by KLIA Express and then third, I went to Ipoh by airplane. The fourth is, once I reached the Ipoh Airport, I went to Lumut by taxi. Fifth, I took a ferry to Pulau Pangkor and sixth, I took the shuttle bus to the hotel. And the seventh is, I took the golf cart to my room. I reached the meeting room at 8 p.m.!” Puan Che said this was an interesting and unforgettable experience that no one will ever go through it.

Last but not least, Puan Che hopes that she can have more time with her family and for herself after 33 years in the education sector. Other than that, she wants to learn and deepen her religious knowledge. She will come back to IPGKBM to contribute her expertise at any time needed.
